Kimberly Seals Allers is a leading authority on issues relating to modern, mothers of color, author of The Mocha Manual™ series of books and editor in chief of MochaManual.com, the fast growing web-based publication and lifestyle destination for today's African American moms and moms-to-be. She is also a featured blogger for MomLogic.com and Babycenter.com.
As a nursing mother and journalist, Kimberly has gone to great lengths to connect women of color with an array of experts, supporting them in their parenting – and specifically – their journey into the world of breastfeeding. Her work has not only given a voice to mothers of color, but also provided a lens with which to view and understand the breastfeeding experience from this unique perspective.
An award winning business journalist, Kimberly most recently served as Senior Editor, Personal Finance and Careers, at Essence Magazine. Her previous positions include serving as a staff writer for Fortune Magazine, a business columnist for the New York Post, and as a business writer for The Times of London.
A Queens, New York native, Kimberly currently resides in Bay Shore, New York with her two children.
